PSP FAQ
Some PSP FAQ that dark alex had wrote regarding PSP 3000 and TA-88v3 motherboard.
1. Has the PSP 300 been hacked yet?
No, currently the PSP 3000 hasn't been hacked yet. The only thing you can do as of now is to use the Gripshift Exploit to run a couple of homebrew games that have been created for it.
2. Has the PSP 2000 with the TA-88v3 Motherboard been hacked yet?
Same as the PSP 3000, no it hasn't been hacked. As with the PSP 3000, the only thing you can do is run the Gripshift Exploit to run some homebrew game.
3. What PSPs are currently hackable?
All the PSP 1000s also known as the PSP Phats are hackable.
All the PSP 2000s or slims are hackable except the ones with the TA-88v3 Motherboard
4. What region is my PSP?
For this you have to look for the numer at the end of the serial code I guess its called at the sticker at the bottom. It should be something like 100?, 200? or 300?. Look at the last number to find out which region it belong to.
PSP 1000 - Japan
PSP 1001 - US/North America
PSP 1002 - Australia/New Zealand
PSP 1003 - UK
PSP 1004 - Europe
PSP 1005 - Korea
PSP 1006 - Hong Kong/Singapore
PSP 1007 - Taiwan
PSP 1008 - Russia
PSP 1009 - China
5. What PSP model do I have?
Check the sticker at the bottom near the end, you will find one of the following:
PSP 100X - The first PSP model, PSP Phat
PSP 200X - The second PSP model, PSP Slim
PSP 300X - The third and recent model, PSP Brite
6. What is a Magic Memory Stick(MMS)?
Definition: An memory stick with the necessary files to boot with a JigKick Battery
Basically, it's a memory stick with the necessary files and formatted in a way that uses a jigkick battery. By doing so, it can be used to install custom fireware on most PSPs.
